  • International Political Economy.  An upper-division course utilizing a wide array of media and active learning approaches including a computer simulation (Barry Hughes’ IFs Model), interactive Internet exercises, and Pew Case Studies.  A survey of IPE from diverse conceptual and theoretical perspectives.  Honors student advisement, entailed advising him on his honors project that was a study on economic policy in the European Union.

  • American Foreign Policy.   An upper-division course focusing on the American foreign policy process and the themes underlying American foreign policy.  Utilized active learning approaches, particularly case studies and a role-play simulation.

·         Simulation Coordinator, GlobalEd Project, January 1999-May 2002. Project conducts computer-assisted international relations simulations for high school and middle school students throughout the United States.  Developed new simulation scenarios and supporting materials for simulations as well as maintaining on-line resources of the site for the Internet-based simulation program.

·         Workshop on Teaching International Negotiations over the Internet, St. Petersburg, Russia, 17-20 March 2002.  Coordinated and facilitated a workshop to help train Russian academics in simulation and active learning approaches to international studies education.
