Analyze the comedy and comic elements in the grocery store segment in W.C. Fields' "It's a Gift" as thoroughly as possible.  Identify the situational sources of the comedy, the comic devices, and the extent to which the delivery and timing of the actors contributes to the comedy.  Write a rough draft of the essay to be turned in on Monday, 8/7.  I will make comments on the essay and return it to you by Wednesday, 8/9.

As you write your essay, be certain that it follows the principles for writing good essays.  Make sure that your essay stays on the topic, that you make several points about the topic, and that you have concrete evidence to back up every point you make.  Remember that the more evidence you can bring to bear on an important point, the more convincing your essay will be.
