In step 1 on
page AC 77, copy the Hours2.mdb database located in the Tutorial.02\Review
folder on your local drive to a floppy disk. Keep the original file as a
backup.
In step 2 on
page AC 77, after typing in the EmployeeNo field set its size to 10
characters to agree with corresponding field in tblEmployees table. In
tblHours to set the first 2 fields of the table to a composite key as a
primary index see REFERENCE WINDOW box on page AC 57.
In step 9 on
page AC 78, see step 6 on page AC 68 to see how to represent the current
date in the validation rule text box.
In step 11 on
page AC 78, before closing and saving the changes, select the TimeCardDate
field from the Field Name area in the upper pane of design window, print
tblTimeCards table in design view using the following steps, press
Alt-Print Screen keys to copy the screen display to the clipboard. Open
Word, click Edit menu, then Paste to get screen capture image
into Word document. Type your first and last
name, class and section number, and date at the top of the page using Word's
header feature. Steps: Click the View menu, clickHeader
and Footer drop-down menu, type your first and last name, press
the Tab key on the keyboard, type class number (IFS 110) and
section number or time class meets, press the Tab key on the
keyboard, enter current date by pressing the Alt + Shift + D
key combination on the keyboard. Click the Close button the
the Header and Footer floating toolbar.
Click Print Preview button, then click Print Button to print the page. Do
not save the Word document when prompted to do so. This is page 1 of your outputs.
Test your validation rule for the TimeCardDate field by opening tblTimeCards
in Datasheet view, enter "01/01/1990" for the TimeCardDate and
press the Tab key. Print the message box that displays as page 2 of
assignment using the steps listed above. Click OK on the message box, click
the Esc key to cancel TimeCardDate data, close the database, click OK and
Yes to the two message boxes which display.

In step 18 on
page AC 78, before closing and saving the changes, select the HoursWorked
field from the Field Name area in the upper pane of design window, print
tblHours table in design view using the steps outlined in step 3 above. This
is page 3 of the assignment. Test your validation rule for the HoursWorked
field by opening tblHours in Datasheet view, enter "44" for the
HoursWorked field value and press the Tab key. Print the image that displays
using the steps outlined in step 3 above. This is page 4 of assignment.
Enter "-37" for the HoursWorked field value and press the Tab key.
Print the image that displays using the steps outlined in step 3 above. This
is page 5 of assignment. Click the Esc key to cancel HoursWorked data, close
the database.
