Hot springs

A view of the wet bar with Arenal in the background

Arenal Parasio has a total of 14 swimming pools, 11 of which are filled with hot spring mineral water heated from the volcano.  The hotsprings that are at the top are the hottest and as they flow down the hill, they get cooler.  The resort also had a large chlorinated pool and a wetbar with hot spring mineral water.

Closed Torch Ginger
(etlingera elatior)

Each hotspring was designed to look like an exotic wading pool, with natural plants and flowers making each pool a private escape.  The bright red and pink flowers attracted butterflies and hummingbirds, adding to the natural beauty.
